Blanco Canvas vs. Palo Duro Canvas

The primary reason we introduced Palo Duro Canvas is supplier redundancy. These days, having more than one source for important product and supplies is critical.  If you notice a Blanco product is out of stock, check the Palo Duro Matte Canvas inventory, and vice versa. Both are professional quality products with similar surface texture and tone. Palo Duro is offered in rolls only at this time.

Ideal For:
  • Transforming photos into art on real canvas
  • Gallery wraps and flat mounts
  • Images with deep blacks and rich color
Good To Know:
  • Real cotton/poly woven canvas
  • Superb saturation and black density
  • Matte (non-reflective) finish
  • Double weave pattern
  • Natural white shade
  • Water based coating compatible
  • Do not use canvas with desktop printers that only feed from a front tray

Make sure to read the Canvas Handling tab.

Download the new "How to make a gallery wrap" guide.

We recommend coating any canvas print that will be displayed without glass protection.

Blanco Matte Canvas

Susan Reich, Jun 15, 2022 - paintingsbysusan2022.com

I am just starting to print and sell some of my digital art, and have found Blanco Matte Canvas prints to sell the best. The easy of printing is wonderful.

Blanco Matte Canvas

Diane Aiena, May 17, 2022

I print client's art work on the Blanco Matte Canvas. The client either sells the framed, finished product, hangs them in their house or gives them as gifts. I and my clients are very happy with the finished product.

Blanco Matte Canvas Trial

Joe Hensley, Apr 09, 2022

I have only recently set up for this medium and printed several trial projects to show customers. I think the results are beautiful results, but the customers will have the final word.

The #1 canvas at our fine art printing shop

BSLprints, Nov 23, 2021 - bslprints.com

Excellent quality at a great price. We carry multiple types of canvas from different brands at my fine art printing shop, and Blanco Matte Canvas from Red River is consistently the top seller by quite a lot.

Blanco canvas is great... But

Tony U, Oct 05, 2021 - ThePhotoOutfitters.Com

It's a pretty stiff medium which makes it a breeze to stretch. I override the default feed and it works like a charm thru the regular sheet feeder on the Epson p800.
My only beef is that the stiffness makes stretching small canvases (9x12)more difficult than necessary.
Color is great - quality terrific. Good product!

Wonderful Media to Showcase Digital Drawings

Barry Goldstein, Mar 13, 2020

I normally use one of Red River's 100% cotton papers for printing. But the canvas adds a nice softness and a different texture to many of my pieces. Highly, highly recommend it.
I was reluctant to use Epson P800's front Fine Art Media loading, but for the 13" x 19" sheets, there really is no option. Once you get over the fear of doing it this way, and setting the "skewed paper" alert to off, this works perfectly fine. (Also should open the printer's top to make sure the paper is properly fed into the printer.)
Using a frame to stretch the canvas does not work for me. Frames require something close to 3" margins on all sides. This means we lose 13" - 6" in the width - and the print is down to 7" wide. It's better to just print as wide as you want, and then purchase a mat and frame.

A revelation with Blanco Matte Canvas and my Canon printer

Cindy Hamilton, Oct 24, 2019 - Winston-Salem, NC

Lately, I've been having problems getting my prints to look like my computer screen. A friend asked me to do a job for her, copy a painted portrait of her granddaughter, and print it for her. I photographed it outside, with diffused light, propped on a music stand and my camera on a tripod. I then "played" with it in Photoshop bumping up contrast, doing a curve adjustment, brightening it just a smidge. Then I printed, carefully copying the profile from Red River and installing it in the library of my computer. My first print was a bust and looked awful. THEN I realized I had one more step that I'd ignored, changing the paper type (*not profile) within my printer's settings to* fine art canvas*. What an incredible difference, and the print was zingy and nearly looked like I had painted directly on it. I LOVE this paper canvas. I bought the 24 inch roll, and would do it again in a heartbeat. My prints were the best ever! Thank you Red River. It's silly to be so excited but I am.

Beautiful paper

Gary Brown, Oct 05, 2019 - Colorado Springs, CO

As an inkjet artist, I purchased this to make copies of my wife's original water color paintings. The quality is superb and unmatched! The copies I've made have been exhibition quality. My wife's artist community of friends are so impressed they have asked to make copies of their work. I would say: "Impress You Friends, Family and Community with this fine art reproduction".

I am astonished by how my art prints look on this gorgeous paper! The colors are actually a tad more vibrant than the originals and it's beautiful! Couldn't be happier :)
