A cross between Arctic Polar and Ultra Pro 3.0
My first Red River favorite paper was Arctic Polar Satin, especially for the lower reflectance surface. However, I was not fond of the high level of optical brighteners in the paper, so I switched to Ultra Pro Satin. Now, Palo Duro comes along with the character of Ultra Pro and the lower reflectance surface of Arctic Polar... Sample prints with a dye ink printer show almost no difference in print rendition between Ultra Pro and Palo Duro. I think I have a new favorite general use paper because of the lower surface reflectance surface. The higher regular price (compared to Ultra Pro)is not good, but the Cyber Monday special price was good.

My go to paper - and using with Epson P900

Dan M, Mar 15, 2023

I've been using this paper for hundreds of prints over many years. Recently tried Ultra Pro Satin, but it it didn't have the richness and depth (to my eye) of PDSatin. This paper also feels more substantial than UP satin.

Eposn P900 note: I had a lot of issues with the 5x7 size of this paper feeding into the Epson P900. On many occasions, the printer stopped transporting part way through the print and kept dumping ink in the same spot, resulting in a big mess. Finally found a simple solution: reverse curl the paper (even though it doesn't have much of a curl) right before feeding it into the printer. I've had no issues since making this part of my feed routine.

Love Palo Duro Satin

Jscott, Jul 30, 2022

The Palo Duro Satin paper is one of the best photo printing products I have ever purchased. If you are looking for a reliable go-to semi-gloss paper this is it. I highly recommend this to other wildlife photographers.

Great paper for display and framing

William A Broadley Jr, May 05, 2022

I am very pleased with using this paper for displays and framing. I print using a Canon Pro 100 with Lightroom Classic software and the printing profile provided by Red River. All of this provides prints that I'm proud to show, sell, and give as gifts. The resulting prints are excellent with beautiful colors.

My go-to paper

Richard Poppino, Dec 15, 2021 - https://www.rpoppinophotography.com

Palo Duro Satin is my go-to paper for nearly all jobs that don't demand baryta or fiber. I love the way it renders. The colors are accurate and vibrant---I use both Red River profiles via Capture One and Print Fab. The tonal separation, particularly in the midrange, is not far off from either San Gabriel Baryta or Epson Exhibition Fibre. In my experience, the combination of quality and price can't be beat.

66lb. Palo Duro Satin 11x17 50 Sheets

This product is very good for printing Real Estate window displays. The colors do not fade in the sunlight. We use a large format Epson printer.

Great Option

Mary Ede, Nov 17, 2021 - https://www.aperturesphoto.com

I needed a slightly warm tone lustre paper for a very specific customer job (prints for a major cellphone store that we needed to match to corporate's samples without any info on the paper or printer they used). Found this paper totally by chance and it is perfect. Prints well, base tone is lovely, and flattens out easily after printing (we use the roll paper). Definitely would recommend.

Just what I was looking for!

Paul, Oct 19, 2021

I needed a paper that would look great for individual and group portraits displayed under glass for a a 25+ person photoshoot. This paper is the perfect weight and has just the right amount of sheen. I used the recommended settings and profiled the paper using my ColorMunki Photo. The individual and group photos turned out beautifully. The client was pleased, and so am I. No question that I'll be buying more of this paper in the future.

Great prints with a satin finish

William A Broadley, Oct 01, 2021

I use this paper for printing final prints for display and framing. The colors are great and they do not fade after years of being up on the wall, even in a very sunny room. I do use the color matching as provided by Red River and, using a Canon Pro 100 printer. the prints are excellent.

Beautiful Paper

Rick, Sep 18, 2021

Palo Duro Satin is an absolutely beautiful paper. Every sheet is consistent and feeds beautifully in the Canon Pro-300. Using Red River's icc profiles for the Canon produces exquisite color reproduction on the Palo Duro. This is my "go to" paper.

My go-to proof and giveaway paper.

Dan, Sep 07, 2021 - https://danmurano.com

I use this paper to proof my scanned b&w and color images (from both slides and negatives). I love the surface and the prints always look great. I tried a similar, though cooler, Ilford paper (one of the newer ones), but had consistent feed and quality issues on my Epson P900. I have zero issues with this one.
