Best Matte Paper for Black & White Prints
We've been printing analog black & white photographic prints for over 25 years. So when it came time to find an inkjet matte paper that could meet our expectations it was frustrating. That is, until we found Red River Polar Matte 60lb. It has the most amazing tonal range for a black & white print. The blacks are so rich you feel like you could reach inside the print. They don't block up like other matte papers, it has a wonderfully wide tonal range. Thanks Red River for making us look good!

So pleased with the Polar Matte Card Stock

I have started selling photo cards using my extensive catalogue of street and travel images, both in retail boutique locations as well as a new Etsy store “oneroomhouse”. Even with the potential shipping challenges as well as much higher costs than the paper I have been use - being that I live in Canada —— I wanted to give the precut and scored Red River papers a try.Firstly - the package was delivered impeccably with much care being taken to make sure it was delivered without damage. That has not been my experience with the materials I have received from Amazon.
Most importantly, the card stock prints my images beautifully. I have all of my card layouts set up in Affinity Publisher and print out wirelessly to an Epson XP 15000. I didn’t waste any paper with the first order of 6 cards that I was able to ship out today to clients. As well some time was saved not having to manually cut and score the cards. The cards from RR folded accurately.I am very pleased. Thank you RR for taking the care to ship that to me in a safe and timely fashion.

I debated whether to try Red River’s 60lb Polar Matte Photo Paper for quite some time. Finally, I bit the bullet, and I’m glad I did for more reasons than one.First, the product was shipped in a timely fashion; ordered on the 20th and arrived on the 23rd. Second, the packing was second to none. Third, inside the shipping box was another box—an actual box—reminiscent of the sturdy boxes that Kodak papers came in decades ago. The fifty sheets of 13x19 matte bright white paper were in pristine condition. That alone was worth the additional $.125 I’ve been paying for printing paper. Fourth, and most importantly, was the look the bright white paper gave my images; colors are crisp, clear, and vivid; the black & white prints (the majority of my work) have their own “silvery” look without a touch of silver halides.I can’t imagine being happier with the results. I highly recommend it.

I have used polar matte paper for many years to print my greeting cards. The colors are vibrant and I love the way my artwork looks; paper is so important! The best quality paper I have found. And I've tried other papers but never found any that that prints as well as Red River Paper.
Highly recommend Red River Paper!
