Ethereal Enchantment
If you trace the backstory of Priscilla Lee’s brand, Biomimi Art, through her interests, education, experience — even her middle name — it all adds up. “Biomimi” is short for biomimicry, the philosophy that design should mimic nature for beautiful, sustainable solutions. Priscilla infuses her art with this concept, which she learned at Parsons School of Design. You can also see Art Nouveau influencing her serpentine lines and intricate florals. Lastly, Priscilla worked as a floral designer for many years and her middle name happens to be Mimi.
Enter Red River Paper
Working from her studio in New York City, Priscilla enjoys combining all the elements of her history into watercolor fantasy art. Mermaids, magic, and mythology are among her favorite artistic subjects, but roosters and monkeys have made it into her greeting card collection. Customers purchase her work in the form of art prints, cards, (including a card with the option to personalize), bookmarks, tins, and tote bags.
Her paper of choice is our Palo Duro Etching, which she purchases in various sizes depending on the product. Below, see examples of her “Zodiac” series, “Libra” and “Aries.” Our museum-grade Palo Duro Etching has just the right texture that doesn’t distract from the details Priscilla works so hard to depict. It has a sophisticated hand-feel and a warm white tone.
“It is important to me that my brand is associated with high-quality products,” Priscilla says. “Your paper immediately impresses my customers and allows me to create prints as close as possible to my original watercolors.”

What year was your business founded and how did you get started?
After losing my job during the pandemic, I found my true calling as a full-time artist. I founded my company, Biomimi Art, in 2021, and I have never been happier.
Tell us a little about what product or service your business offers.
I specialize in traditionally drawn ethereal fantasy art. In my work, I love to capture the beauty of mythical beings, fantastical creatures, and botany. I sell art prints, cards, bookmarks, tins, and totes with my art printed on them. Soon, I will start hosting drawing/painting workshops.
What makes your business unique?
“Biomimi” is short for biomimicry, the philosophy that design should mimic nature for beautiful and sustainable solutions. This concept is ingrained into my art and sustainable packaging.
Where do you source your raw materials from?
Red River Paper, Amazon, Michaels, Blick Art Materials, the Garment District, etc.
In what ways does the business reflect your own personality?
I incorporate my background in art, architecture, biology, and floral design to create uplifting fantasy art. My artwork is an incorporation of everything I love and everything I wish the world to be.
Who are your typical customers?
My typical customers tend to be females between 18 and 50 who appreciate art and quality. They range from the wealthy with large homes for hanging art to the art student who appreciates good “fan art.”
What is the most interesting project you've encountered in the course of your work?
My ”Zodiac” series was the most fun to work on. I really enjoyed capturing all the different personalities and bringing them to life with watercolor in a unique way.
What has Red River Paper done for your business? Is there a particular challenge Red River Paper has helped you overcome or a goal they helped you meet?
Red River Paper has been an excellent source of high-quality paper of various textures and sizes for all my art print needs.

It is important to me that my brand is associated with high-quality products, and your paper immediately impresses my customers and allows me to create prints as close as possible to my original watercolors.
Do you have any future growth or product launch or event goals you’d like to share?
I would like to increase exposure and do pop-ups/art galleries in other states. I have plans to launch a whole collection of new postcards and large prints. My current event timeline can be seen on the Events page of my website.
